Collaborating with other local creatives is a great way to try something new (like this crazy over-the-top bouquet) and meet some of the most interesting people around. This shoot was a blast for all the right reasons. We had the amazing Ashton Kelly @ashtonkelleyphotography to photograph every detail. Our bride Megan, @copperstoneco, also happened to be the calligrapher who created the invitation suite as well as the seriously amazing hand-lettered leather jacket. The concept for this shoot was the brainchild of Dan @thesentimentalfools and his assistant @foolish_dawn. We couldn’t have asked for a sweeter venue than @mainstreetballroom as the backdrop for these amazing photos. The bride’s look is thanks to @makeupbyvictoriao and the gown, @lovelybride @savannahmillerbridal. Last but certainly not least are these luscious florals that made everyone swoon created by yours truly @stemsfineflorals.
Floral details: This bouquet was inspired by the enormous locally grown Dahlia’s and Amnesia roses that are featured prominently. The over-the-top size and cascading style was born out of scale because of the size of the largest dahlia which was as large as a dinnerplate (why these are sometimes referred to as “dinnerplate dahlias.) Several varieties of eucalyptus were used as well as Agonis foliage, Queen-Anne’s lace, Scabiosa Pods, and Uluhe fern. Utilized elsewhere in the shoot: Anigozanthus, Sea Oats, Helleborus, Café Au Lait Dahlias, Eryngium, Scabiosa, Toffee Roses, and Amaranthus. This shoot was such a fun way to go crazy with budget and create something truly unique.
